Nineteen of the Russian's 21 championships have been won on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament title decider.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has experienced a challenging period, managing just a single victory at the Grand Slams and suffering a meltdown at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serve in specific - caused him falling of the elite rankings and finally separating with former mentor his previous coach.
Presently training with Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the past month - peaking in a tightly fought 7-5 4-6 6-3 triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first trophy after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface from March of that year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 various tournaments.
"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to secure a championship is particularly special," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."
The tennis star, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in Halle in the past months.
Medvedev's defensive strategy and frequent reactions on the tennis court had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was over.
But the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and perform positively, reinforced by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a break down in the opening set against the challenging opponent, securing 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
Both players traded break points in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour title, seized the initiative to force a final set.
Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to fifteen to close out the victory.
Suitably, Medvedev earned the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
